Recording begins for Byrd and Britten CD
The combined choirs have begun recording sessions for their latest CD - a disc pairing William Byrd and Benjamin Britten, two of England's most celebrated composers. This is the choir's sixth collaboration with Signum, and we look forward to hearing the results before long!

Chapel choir return from tour to Switzerland
The Chapel choir has just returned from Switzerland where they performed as part of the Recontres Internationales de Choeurs d'Hommes. As well as giving four concerts, the choir enjoyed visiting a horology museum, and meeting the other choirs performing, including the King's Singers. The choir was warmly welcomed, with one concert receiving a standing ovation!

Mark Williams appointed Director of Music at Magdalen College, Oxford
Congratulations to our Director of Music Mark Williams who has been appointed Informator Choristarum, Organist and Tutorial Fellow in Music at Magdalen College, Oxford. Though we will be sorry to see him go, we are delighted that he has won this very prestigious position. Mark will remain at Jesus for Michaelmas Term 2016 before taking up his new post on 1 January 2017. Please click here for more details of Mark's appointment.

Joint evensong with Saffron Walden Junior Choir
Today the mixed choir was joined by Saffron Walden Junior Choir for a special evensong, including Murrill's Magnificat and Nunc dimittis in E major, and Wesley's Lead me, Lord, during which a solo was sung by the visiting choir. The mixed choir enjoyed welcoming our visitors with a tea before the service, especially as it was an excellent break from exams!

Mixed choir return from tour to Hong Kong and China
The mixed choir have just returned from a six-day trip to the Far East, in which they performed in Hong Kong and Beijing. The choir sang for events to mark the launch of important partnerships between Jesus College and Peking University, as well as for a university-wide fundraising event in Hong Kong. The choir also gave concerts in St John's Cathedral in Hong Kong, and with the choir of Peking University. While not performing, the choir enjoyed sightseeing (especially the Forbidden City in Beijing), and sampling local culinary delicacies!
